High School of the Dead review

Highschool of the Dead is set in the present day, beginning as the world is struck by a deadlypandemic that turns humans into zombies, euphemistically referred to by the main characters as “them”. The story follows Takashi Komuro, a Japanese student at Fujimi High School who survived the initial outbreak along with several of his classmates and the school nurse, and occasionally jumps to the perspective of other characters.

The plot is initially concerned with survival and escape from the titular high school and zombies, but as the series proceeds it introduces the additional threats of societal collapse, in the form of dangerous fellow survivors and the possible decay of the characters’ own moral codes.

MY TURN: I haven’t done an anime review for some time now, so hold on tight…

High School of the dead is based on a manga written by Daisuke Sato. It is about a group of high school student who struggles to survive on this zombie infested Japanese city. Though the anime has everything of what you would expect on a zombie movie/series, it just doesn’t sit well enough for me for this genre. Yes! it has the guns, gore, the smashing of the heads, the drama that goes along with the action, and of course the babes, but it just seems it lacks the “BOOM” if you know what I mean. You can predict what will happen most of the time, and apparently the group somehow survives every zombie wave, and our protagonist “Takashi Komuro” has to get all the babes >__<.But other than that, this anime will probably hit the spot for zombie enthusiast and like I said before,”Don’t take my word for it, go watch it yourself.” I give this anime a 7/10.

OH~~ The series stops at episode 12  and I don’t know what happened to ep 13. Maybe ep 13 is a start of a new season coming this winter…just maybe.
