I just finished watching another anime called Shiki.
Plot: Sotobamura is a small village with around 1300 residents; so small the village isn’t even connected to a single highway. An isolated village in which old customs, such as the burial of the dead, are still practiced. One day, the bodies of three people are found dead. Although Ozaki Toshio, the village’s lone doctor, feels uncertain, he treats the deaths as a normal occurrence. However, in the days following, the villagers start to die one after the other.
My Turn: Having 22 episodes in all, I find this anime very amusing. Remember the anime Ghost Hound I reviewed way back when? Well, this anime kind of have the same feel into it. When I first saw this anime, I was thinking of dropping it but a couple of more episodes later, it “sucked” me in. The story is very interesting and I think the creators wants it to be a mind boggling kind of anime kind of like Ghost Hound. This one is very bloody indeed and when you get around the climax of the anime, that’s where all the good stuff and all the mind boggling stuff happens. The thing I don’t like about it is the ending. Watch it and see for your self. I will give this anime a 8/10.
